Protein:
Biofarm yoghurt is a quality source of protein. Your muscles and immune system are made up mostly of protein. As our yoghurt is made wholly with pasteurised milk , the protein in our yoghurt contains all the essential amino acids of milk that are required by the body for optimum growth. For this reason, more of the protein can be used for protein anabolism (metabolism), and there’s less chance the protein in the yoghurt will be converted to fat and stored.
Calcium:
Out of all the minerals in our body, calcium is present in the largest quantity – a little over a kilo’s worth. Our bones and our teeth make up nearly the entire amount; a tiny remainder is in our tissues and blood. Calcium works with another mineral, phosphorus, in building and maintaining our bones and teeth.
Every day, about a third of the calcium leaves our bones and has to be renewed through the calcium we absorb from calcium rich food (or supplements).
Vitamin D is essential to the absorption of calcium by the body. Vitamin D is supplied to us by the ultraviolet rays of the sun, and is also present in cream, or milk fat.
Biofarm wholemilk yoghurts are a readily available source of calcium thanks to the presence of both Vitamin D and phosphorus.
Probiotic and additive free:
Probiotic cultures transform the lactose in the milk to lactic acid creating a naturally fermented
Yoghurt which is more easily digested. The live bacteria colonise the body and assist with general health and wellbeing.
Biofarm yoghurt contains no added milk powder/solids (high in lactose) and is therefore a low allergy food.

- 1 cup Biofarm Bush Honey Yoghurt
- 1 cup full cream milk (not homogenised)
- 1 scoop of icecream
- 1 banana
- 1 ripe kiwi fruit
- 1 serving of fruit (eg: black doris plums)
Mix in Blender – drink over the day (note: Biofarm yoghurt can be used in Tigers Milk recipe for Breast milk booster).
Biofarm Breakfast Smoothie
Our all time favourite – also good after school or work
- 1 cup of your favourite Biofarm Yoghurt
- 1 banana
- Half cup of fresh orange or berry juice
- 1 kiwi fruit
- 1 other fresh fruit serving of your choice
- Optional extras might include:
- Spirulina
- Food yeast
- Kelp
- LSA (oil or ground)
Mix in blender, pour and enjoy
High Protein Low Fat Smoothie
After hard workout at the gym or at the game
- 1 cup Biofarm low fat natural yoghurt or honey dew yoghurt
- (replace with Biofarm acidophilus natural yoghurt or bush honey yoghurt if muscle building)
- 30g – 60g Protein Powder (as recommended)
- Flavour of your choice such as:
- 2 scoops Frozen sorbet
- 1 serving frozen or fresh berries
- Banana
- Half cup of low fat milk or water
